Creative Alternatives works with marginalized producers in rural and urban areas of Kenya. The producers take pride in the product ideas they are able to develop and market through Creative Alternatives. The producers are self employed men and women, largely young and middle aged, who have failed to get formal employment. They have thus had to seek employment in the jua kali (which translates into hot sun in the Swahili language) sector. They work in groups, small family owned businesses or as individuals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I build my own fairy garden?
Yes! Planters, fairies, gnomes and accessories can be purchased separately. We do combine shipping and do not charge a handling charge to keep shipping costs low.
Can you paint the planter crates any color?
Yes. Just message or email us and we will get as close to the color as possible. We purchase the paint colors through Behr paints and Rustoleum therefore, if you give us the paint code, we can match it.
Are plants included with your fairy gardens.
Plants are in our displays and can be purchased at festival sites only. We do not ship live plants! Please see the list of festival dates and times we will be participating in this year.
What are your planters made of?
We have resin, wood, glass and metal planters for sale. Please see individual items for pricing and sizes.
